Hug A Pug

It's under a week before the start of LFW, I'm up to my eyeballs with work, and feel like I might need to be carted off the The Priory at any minute. As I sat here at the kitchen table in my pj's frantically bashing away at my laptop all I could think was that I needed a holiday. Then, from out of nowhere this piece of pure joy popped up on my twitter feed, and put a much needed smile on my face.

Start London, you are amazing. This video is GENIUS. These Erdem Pug's are insane...I think I'm in love!

Heaven is a place on earth...

God, I really do have to stop using songs as blog titles....especially bad tragic '80's ones....but it's true, I really really have! Today I was honoured (and I don't say that lightly) to be invited to take a sneaky peak at the brand-spanking new, all singing, all dancing, couldn’t-begin-to-imagine-in-your-wildest-dreams, Louis Vuitton Maison on New Bond street. There are no words, so here are some pictures (which believe me don’t even begin to do any of it any justice)….phew

He’s a giraffe with gold studded hooves, wearing 4 Louis Vuitton scarfs, AND a monochrome Louis Vuitton harness. If you can think of anything more utterly fabulous in the world I’ll give up chocolate for eternity.

For those who hadn’t noticed (which won’t be anyone who’s seen me in the last month), I’m having a bit of a headscarf moment (sparked by my mental fringe). Anyway, I usually use scraps or old scarves, but that was before I knew this existed. I need it. Imagine. It would be mind-blowing. I’d smile all day, and do good deeds and everything....promise!

Introducing the bag bar, aka. the moving wall of luxury arm-candy, aka. the LV bag enthusiast’s wet dream…

Yes, it’s the most luxe picnic hamper you’ll ever see. I can’t imagine quite where or how you’d use it, but I want it nonetheless. Defo going on my wedding list (YES, I know I need the boy first….small inconvenience).

I love flat shoes (there, I said it). These are;
a. Louis Vuitton
b. Gold
c. With studs
d. And sequins
(In my best Greg Wallace off Masterchef voice) "Flats don’t get much better than this"…

SO amazing I’ve officially upgraded it from a bumbag, to an mmmmbag.

Katie Grand's installation. Amazing. I love this. I love her. This makes me want to walk around with a fricking bag ON MY HEAD - what a twat! Amazing!

And just so I don’t get accused of being a great big suck-up (although, I kinda am)…Me, in these, can you imagine? For humanities sake I steer clear of cycling shorts, and kinda think the rest of the world should follow suit. Good people at Louis Vuitton, two questions;
1. What were you thinking?
2. Why??

The lost month....

Oh god, it’s been so long. There really is no excuse for my absence – life’s just been on fast forward for the last month.

Have been up to all sorts of random/ exciting things, so by way of getting back into your good books I thought I’d share a few of them with you.

This is what my mouth has tasted, eyes have seen, and things that have made me smile……

I love a headscarf, (especially when my hair’s being particularly crazy/ I’m being particularly lazy) and this is my current fave. It's an off cut from Zambia. Simples.

I went to this A-MA-ZING Sipsmith/ Providores pop-up restaurant. It was without a doubt one of the best meals of my life. There were 6 courses, and a different Sipsmith vodka or gin cocktail served with each course – it was honestly incredible. I got totally sozzled, and ended up being bundled into a cab by the pr at the end of the night. Classy

Obvs I’ve been keeping my fashion-bitch eye out. Spotted these monstrosities on the tube not so long ago. All I have to say on the matter is that I’m sorry you had to see them too. Really I am.

Yes, he’s a cat in a scarf, which makes him THE coolest cat in the world. He hangs out with a Big Issue seller in Covent Garden, and I'm kinda obsessed with him. I dropped and cracked the screen on my phone taking this picture in fact, so I hope you appreciate it!

This is me while I could still stand at my belated birthday party. I brought the feather skirt out for a special birthday airing, and wore it with a plain vest, shimmering nude and gold tights, and my fave new snakeskin open toe boots. I love birthdays – they’re the one time when you can wear absolutely anything you choose, and I obviously always take full advantage of this. I can’t reveal how old I am as I’m a lady, but I will say I’m old enough to know better….

Mini birthday cupcakes which my lovely friend Henri made me....yummy!

Saw this in Ridley Road market, and still can't believe my eyes. Can you imagine turning up at Heathrow with this? Why would you even need a suitcase this big? How could you wheel it? Where would you store it? And how comes they decided to make it leopard print. Genius, pure genius!

Argh, so obviously I LOVE these Alice Palmer studded tights. I spotted them on her pr at a press day, and had to get a snap. They're the definition of fierce. I NEED these in my life!

Just another fashion week - cut knees, ticket thieves, old friends, new friends and lots of booze

Whadda-day, whadda-day, whadda-day. After a shaky start (literally, I feel over and cut my knee, and a French exchange student laughed at me, so I maturely starred her out then told her to fuck off) – I’ve had an absolutely fan-bloody-tastic day.

You won’t be surprised to hear that I didn’t make it to my first too shows….in fact, I didn’t make it to my third either, because I’m a shit Londoner and never know where anything is and got on the wrong bus! I therefore started my day with cocktails at Somerset house with the gorgeous Angel Jackson girls. Whilst there I met (well, actually kinda accosted) stylist extraordinaire Anna Trevelyan, and made a total prat out of myself telling her how jealous I am that her blog has a disclaimer before you can enter it – smooth, so smooth. After really embarrassingly over staying my welcome (nothing worse that a loiterer, eh) I eventually stumbled to Leicester square for the Alice screening….to realise (i.e. actually read the ticket properly) that I was a day late – twat! Anyway, all’s well that ends well. I made up for my lack of show action by hitting Ann-Sofie Back and PPQ. Get this; I was at queuing to get into th PPQ show and some stole my ticket…can you believe it???? We’d got through the main door into the tent, and then we were just queuing again to get into the actual space. I had my ticket tied to my arm (don’t ask, was tipsy, thought it was a bright idea), and I took my jacket off for a picture (the jumpsuit was properly working for me today – got papped loads….sadly mainly by student papers and other blogs….French Vogue – where art thou???), and my ticket dropped on the floor. Next thing I know some blonde bitch with a Calvin Klein shopping bag has swiped it! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! I went storming off to find her and couldn’t, told the pr’s and they said I wasn’t the only one – madness! People, watch your goodie bags! In fact, with people like that about watch your accessories too! Anyway, polished off the day with a bit of a boogie (and by breaking 3 glasses) at the PPQ after party. After only eating an almond croissant all day, and drinking almost constantly since 3 in the afternoon I’ve finally hit (literally) the sack……Ahhhh, what a lovely day though – I met SO many beautiful, talented, generally gorgeous people…love fashion week, love fashion people….kinda hate my shoes!

p.s. meant to be at Betty Jackson at 9am….wish me luck! xxx

My one meal of the day, breakfast on the bus - how glam, not!

My cut knee, boo hoo - the shame, the shame!

Me and Felicity my soulmate meet at last. Love her, love all the Angel Jackson girls - everyone should buy their gorgeous bags! (p.s. please note my 'pimped' AJ bag)!

Um, how much am I loving! It's a friggin holster man!

Mary from The Uniform project blog. Thought she looked AWESOME.

Lovely Holly Fulton necklaces....yes please!

SUPER-skinny model at Sofie-Ann Back...eek!

Fierce earring - part robo-cop, part bluetooth headset - full-on sex!

Crazy greasy, 3-week old hair at Ann-Sofie Back show...I will never (intentionally) be doing this to mine!

A bum veil....wtf?????

Hhhmmmm....not sure this look will translate well to the high-street.....can you imagine the Primark version!

The only full look I actually liked at Ann-Sofie Back - can't resist a bit of double denim action.

Gorgeous Julia my housemate in her pimped out Harpers Mercedes....alright for some!

Mr Gaga! No, not really, but you get what I mean. Not sure how I feel about this....sorry....you are very sweet though!

Jodie Harsh being out-wigged at PPQ - Hilar!

A Fashion Ed in the PPQ FROW dressed as a box of chocolates....odd....

Jo Wood in the PPQ FROW - celeb spot of the day

The PPQ show. Sadly nothing too exciting - typical PPQ, nice, wearable, 80's-ish, black and gold dresses. Blah.

Lee McQueen tribute in BFC tent. Too sad.

Me and the one and only, utterly fabulous Theo at PPQ party. LOVE this boy - he always has a face full of glitter and a heart full of love and mischief.

My good friend Lou, and the soon-to-be-famous-watch-this-name Rian Peters both in MJ T-shirts - I felt very left out!

Rian's superb-for-a-straight-boy shoes....smokin!

I heart your high-top!

My friend Francis (who runs MyTailoredSuit with 3 of our other friends - check it out) and fabulous new PR friend Sunshine

Me....drunk....wearing Rian's hat....was seen shortly after doing a chicken dance and professing my love for a dyson hand dryer....dignified

Two sisters, one cat, a camera and 5 African outfits

Now – let me just make one thing clear – I’m under no illusions that I’m in anyway model material. Me and my sister Sophie did however get a teensy bit carried away on Sunday, and decided to do a little shoot so I could show off my new Zambian outfits…well it wouldn’t have been fair to shoot them on the hanger now would it!

xx From Roma with LoVe xx

Boys and girls, apologies for going AWOL, but the recent cold snap proved a snap too far for, and I’ve been hibernating under my dressing gown in front of my new Ally McBeal boxset for the best part of a week! Before that I treated myself to a pre-Christmas trip to Rome with my good friend Kim. It was my first time in the holy city, and it didn’t disappoint one bit – in fact, there are no words, so I’ve decided to share with you my Rome in pictures. In between full-fat Cap’s and 12 Euro Ice creams I managed to snap the best and worst dressed, most beautiful sights (old and new)…and oddest trends – I hope you enjoy!
Ciao ciao fa now beautiful people xx

….now where’s that 3rd series disk at…..?

I snapped this lovely lady outside the Vatican, and I just think she's the ultimate in Continental Chic. From the top of her Moncler coat (an item always hovering near the top of my lust-ooh-meter); to the bottom of her perfect, patent boots, this is a master-class in style, and everything I aspire too. The Satorialist – watch your back!

And just behind her was this. There are no words….except – wearing all one colour does not a stylish outfit make!*
*unless that colour’s black. End of.

Despite taking over 100 photos’ this is the only one where I don’t look like an anaemic Christmas pudding. I would like to say I was wishing for world peace, but I think we all know that look on my expression has ‘I want Chanel earmuffs’ written all over it.

Forget Bond Street, that Via Borgognona is THE ULTIMATE (very wealthy) shopaholics dream. If like me, you’re broke as a chair with 3 legs then you can simply gave longingly at the beautiful window displays. Louis Vuitton (above) won 1st prize for best window display – I LoVe. And Fendi (below) win for best festive effort. Good work chaps!

So – strange trends. Sadly I only managed to snap two examples, but it seems the Italians have taken to pimping their dogs. There was hardly a pooch in Rome not dolled up to the nines and working the streets like a dogwalk. Above we have a Paris Hilton-alike (a bit passé if you ask me), while below we have a real biker rock-chick trendsetter….Grrrrr.
